Yesterday, out of the blue, I received a text from Ronald Anderson, widower of our classmate Nancy Mason. The only detail at the time we had about Nancy was that she was deceased. Ron filled-in much information. Nancy graduated from Shippensburg. She and Ron married in April of 1970. Their son, Robert, was born in 1971. Nancy suffered from Crohn's disease and she died from its complications on June 30, 1975, following multiple major surgeries. Nancy is buried in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens beside her parents and grandparents. Nancy's son Robert is an avionics mechanic for Alaska Airlines and lives in Seattle WA. Ron is remarried and the president of a startup gene therapy company. He lives west of Baltimore MD.

I spent a lot of time with Nancy in High School. She was in my English class, Mr Keller, I believe. She was also living in Penn Pines, on Surrey Road, two streets from me, on Laurel Lane. We attended a Youth group on Friday evenings at a local church. She was kind and caring and always a good friend.

If we had known about Goldie Hawn back then, I think Nancy would have been identified with Goldie. I believe I remember Nancy as funny and with a great giggle.Linda Babikian
