In Memory

Eileen Weston (Cahill)

Eileen Anne Cahill, 66, of Windsor, CT, beloved wife for 45 years of Stephen Cahill, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, August 9, 2013. Born in Ridley Park, PA on June 26, 1947, daughter of the late James George and Helen Katherine (Hill) Weston, Eileen was raised in Upper Darby, PA and was a graduate of Upper Darby High School. After marrying her husband Stephen, Eileen and her family lived in Pennsylvania and New York before settling in Connecticut in 1978. Eileen worked at Great American Insurance Company as a transcriptionist for many years before her retirement. Eileen was a loving, caring, and proud mother of two wonderful children. Eileen enjoyed camping, fishing, travelling the United States by car, knitting, crafts, and helping out at her children's school programs and events. Eileen also volunteered for more than 14 years at the Caring Connection in Windsor. At the Caring Connection, an adult day care center, Eileen loved and cared for the participants and would always refer to them as her seniors. Eileen was an avid book reader and enjoyed history. She gave up many Fall campfires because she was a loyal fan of Notre Dame Football and she was able to cheer for her team in this year's National Championship game. God blessed Eileen with love and caring. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. Eileen is now with her mother, father, sister, and brother in Heaven. Besides her husband, Stephen, she leaves a daughter, Lori Clouser and her husband Seth of Manchester; a son, Douglas Cahill and his fiancé Nora Kenny of Framingham, MA; a beloved pet and loyal companion, Mrs. Murphy; a nephew, Peter Carruolo and his wife Kari of Tampa, FL; a cousin Lloyd Weston and his wife Gail of York, PA; a sister-in-law, Kathy Weston of Elyria, OH; and a brother-in-law, Fred Carruolo of Morton, PA. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, James Weston Jr.; and a sister, Jane Carruolo.

I'm sorry to find out about the passing of Eileen. We were always in the same homeroom because of our last names. While I didn't know her well, I looked forward to seeing her in homeroom each day. As I read her obituary, I was struck by how much we had in common: knitting, camping, and volunteering. While she passed away at a relatively young age, it seems she lived a full, productive life as well as loved her family and others and was loved back. Doesn't get much better than that. RIP Eileen.

It is with a heavy heart to see that my friend from High School has passed. We shared Mr. Roma's Spanish class. He made our year a real joy and so did she.

Descansa en paz amiga mio, Lorenzo
