Steven Whitney

I received sad news from Fred Woskov regarding our classmate Steve Whitney. Steve passed away in Boston, Saturday morning (3/15/2025).  Many of us knew Steve from our time at Drexel Hill Jr. High, then our 3 years at UDHS. Steven Lowell Whitney, 76, of Medway died Saturday, March 15, 2025, at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. He was the beloved husband of Edith (Hogsett) Whitney.

Steven grew up in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania and received an MBA from Warton Graduate School. He served for 37 years as an administrator and CEO for the Boy Scouts of America. He was the treasurer of the Star Island Corporation for 11 years and the treasurer of the Isles of Shoals Association for 12 years.

Steven served as a gallery guard for the Masters Golf Tournament for 10 seasons. He had an avid interest in sports.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Joshua and 2 sisters Caroline Simons and Mary Starr Whitney.

 

Funeral services are private at the request of his family.
