Patricia Norsworthy (Menig)

 Patricia L. “Patsy” Menig, 75, a long-time resident of Harleysville, PA, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2024, at Temple University Hospital with family by her side. She and her husband, Joseph P. Menig, observed their 52nd wedding anniversary on March 25th of this year. 

Born October 18, 1948, in Drexel Hill, PA, she was a daughter of the late James and Saranne (Douthwaite) Norsworthy of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. She was a 1966 graduate of Upper Darby High School and an active member of the reunion planning committee.  She also obtained her associate degree from Delaware Valley Community College. Patsy was employed with Schulmerich Carillons of Sellersville, PA for almost 20 years, where she enjoyed playing in the company’s handbell choir. She retired from Schulmerich as a human resources manager. 

An avid flower gardener, Patsy was a member of the Philadelphia Horticulture Society. She enjoyed time at the shore, especially at Long Beach Island, NJ. Patsy also acted as a patient advocate for those with COPD by participating in research studies and publicly sharing her experiences with other patients and physicians.  Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren, to whom she was affectionately known as “Nanny”.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Meagan P. Watkins and her husband, Tony, and their daughter, Evangeline, of Aston, PA; Alison M. Kuhn and her husband, Brian, and their children, Clara and Eliza, of Harleysville, PA; Melissa F. Henderson and her husband, Wayne, of Manahawkin, NJ; and Patrick J. Menig and his daughter, Aubrey, of Harleysville, PA. She is also survived by three siblings, Saranne Hale of Springfield, PA, Cletus Norsworthy of Media, PA, and Jack Norsworthy of Lansdale, PA. She will also be missed by her dog, Riley. 

Patsy was preceded in death by two siblings, James Norsworthy and Mary Lou Bridges. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her prayer service at 12 pm on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford, PA, where family will receive friends from 11-11:45 am. Interment will be private. For those desiring, contributions may be made in her memory to the Temple Lung Center.
